Being a reader is easy. You pick out a book of interest and delve in to an entire unknown world. You get to experience life through someone else's eyes, walk in their shoes for a minute and see a world that you could never imagine on your own. You go through a myriad of feelings and emotions. You can hate the story one minute and love it the next. You can cry tears of joys and tears of anger, all within a few pages. You can go around the world and beyond in a single book. You can do all that by simply reading.
The hard part is explaining exactly how that book made you feel. How did you connect or not connect. How did it change your life? What did it make you see? That is the hard part. I had never heard of Leylah Attar until Mists of the Serengeti was released. I fell in love with the cover and knew I needed to add that to my forever growing list of books I hope to read in my lifetime. But Mists just kept jumping at me. Everywhere I looked someone was talking about it, so I bought it. I finished a book and bumped that one up to read. And I am so glad I did!
Mists of the Serengeti is unlike anything I have ever read, it's better! I have read countless amazing books in my twenty-six years of life, but this one is the best book I have ever read. The raw and real feelings that come with this story are like no other. The descriptiveness makes you feel like you are right there with the characters. This story will have you glued to your kindle and not want to let go. This book is simply beautiful.
I started this book almost completely blind. I knew many were reading it, it had a gorgeous cover, and was based off of some true life events. Other than that I was clueless as to what it was even about. I think that made it even better! Attar paints such a beautiful picture that is magnetizing and unpredictable. It opens your eyes and hearts to things you could never imagine. The epilogue is incredibly beautiful and ties the story together better than ever expected.
This is a book that I will recommend for years and years. I will buy this for all of my friends and family who love books and even those who don't ever read, because it is a book worth reading.
