Again, I should start by saying I don't get book boyfriends. I've never been one to fall in love with character and practically wish he was real, but Lordy day, give me a Finn any day and I will never complain. (Just don't let my hubs see this ;) ) This book was a perfect story of breaking out of our shells and taking chances, even if they hurt.
I have a few of Dawn's books and have yet to get a chance to read them. (Sorry, Dawn!) But I am so glad I was able to devour this book. Yes, I devoured it. It was a different type of story that just hooked me and had me getting all the feels. I even had some tears. I know that's not an easy thing to do, so score one for Dawn! haha.
Finn and Liz are such an interesting comparison from the beginning. Throw in some other quirky friends and a carpool and you get a fantastic story of love, friendship, and breaking barriers. A couple things that I loved about this book: 1) Its realness. You can take this story and easily believe that it was a real story that happened to someone. I love fiction and the journey of fantasy, but I also LOVE books that are super real and leave out the extra farfetched things. In my opinion, if you can relate to it, all the better. 2) I loved how Dawn would slip in references to her other books and tie them together in such an easy way. It wasn't anything major, but it made me chuckle. haha
Anyway, to make a long story short and give you little to no details. (I hate any spoilers) This book is amazing and I just bumped up the rest of Dawn's books on my TBR. So, grab Confessions now because I promise it will hold you captive from the start! Except Finn, because he's mine. ;)
